SALVAGE teams are in the final stages of dismantling the stricken Riverdance ferry.
Only one piece of the mammoth wreck remains beached in the sand with crews hoping it could be removed this weekend.

They will then use sonar equipment to check no wreckage remains in the sand which could cause a danger to the public and the environment.

The ferry ran aground opposite Anchorsholme Park near Cleveleys in January when it was hit by a freak wave during a journey from Northern Ireland to Heysham.

Please dont remove it all yet!!! I won one bet at a local bookies at Easter when despite all the promises that it would be refloated quickly it wasnt and I won £50. My current bet is that there will still be something on the beach or the beach still closed at one minute past midnight on Xmas Day. That will bring in £30 if I win so please leave something on the beach!!!!

Also the second that road re-opens it will be choc a block with campervans. Its nice and peaceful how it is now. But they could at least open it to pedestrians and cyclists I don't dare walk on the beach incase an overzealous security guard tackles me to the floor.
