A TEENAGE girl managed to escape after she was grabbed from behind by a man on Friday morning.
The 18-year-old was walking along West Park Drive near Blackpool Sports Centre at around 9.45am when the chilling incident took place.

She managed to struggle free before rushing to safety and calling the police.

Although she was uninjured, the victim was said to have been left shocked and distressed.

Det Insp Steve Gardner, from Blackpool police, said: "I would appeal for anyone who may have been in the West Park Drive area, near to the sports centre, between 9.30am and 10am yesterday to come forward.

"Although the young lady wasn't physically hurt, she was left very shocked and distressed by the incident."

The man is described as white, approximately 25-years-old and around 5ft 10in tall with collar length light brown hair.

He was wearing a distinctive red bomber jacket, which possibly had a dark coloured waist band, blue jeans and spoke with a local accent.

Anyone with any information should contact Blackpool police on 01253 293933 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
