The warning will be in place from 5pm tonight to 10pm on Tuesday as rain is expected to move in from the west, falling as snow above 200-300m for a time, giving a risk of temporary snowfall accumulations of 1 to 2cm and perhaps up to 5cm over high ground above 400m. There will also be a risk of patchy ice where rain, sleet and snow fall on frozen surfaces. Forecasters warned: “Some localised travel disruption is likely, mainly over high level routes of north Wales and northern England.”
