STEVE Kabba today gave Blackpool FC a major boost when he revealed he is seriously considering signing for the club in January.
With Kabba unwanted at Watford, the Seasiders will have an opportunity to buy the striker when his loan deal runs out.

Kabba says he wouldn't be against that, and dismissed the theory that his wages would be too high for the club to afford.

The frontman told The Gazette: "Have I ruled out coming to Blackpool? No, not at all.

"People can talk about wages but it's the club's second season in the Championship and their wage structure is getting bigger and higher as the years go on.

"Every year they stay in the Championship that will happen and I think they will stay in the league this year.

"We've got off to a decent start and hopefully the more we can get results, the higher we'll push ourselves in the division and that can only be a help to the club.

"This move here was a big thing for me and I know that if I do a good job at Bloomfield Road, clubs might come in for me in January and Blackpool might want to sign me as well.

"Hopefully I will have a few offers and then the decision will be down for me, but I have definitely not ruled out Blackpool I'm really enjoying it here and it's terrific to be playing regular football again."

Simon Grayson saved Kabba from 18 months in the football wilderness when he signed him during the summer.

Given his lack of goals and games over the last two years, the 27-year-old was a bit of an unknown quantity, and the fans - and probably Grayson - didn't know what to expect.

But Kabba has quickly proved he is a class striker and can do a job in the Championship.

He's hit two goals in his first seven games but admits he needed to perform and produce the goods.

"I saw it as a crossroads, a bit of a last chance when I came to Blackpool," he added.

"There weren't many people banging down my door asking me to play for them. It had been like that over the last year.

"I wasn't playing at Watford and when you are not playing people forget you.

"It is the last year of my contract as well and I have a family to feed so I want to stay in the game and stay at this level and beyond - so it was a bit of a last chance and I knew I had to take it.

"If I didn't perform then I knew I'd be in trouble so I've got my head down.

"I've always been a hard worker and with luck on my side I'll show everyone what I can do and people will know I am out there again and not finished as a footballer."

Should Blackpool offer Kabba a long-term deal? Leave your thoughts below.

I like Kabba, & I think the fans do aswell.

Its nice to see a player on loan at our club not make out they are bigger & better for us.

I hope he gets a good few goals, not just for us but for Kabba aswell!

Simon Grayson and his staff seem to have the midas touch with such players. I think it will be a smart move by Kabba for his career to stay with us. Better being a bigger fish in a smaller pond than an outcast squid in a large ocean - as Wes Hoolahan now realises!

Sounds to me like he would prefer to leave if the right offer came along.

This guy is excellent for us, im happy to hear he'll consider signing for us. Its impossible and quite naive to think that players only consider one option when deciding their future club. For a player of his skill and workrate to consider us is a pat on the back to Mr grayson yet again, and shows we're slowly becoming a settled championship club

Seems that we can provide the right environment for these players to shine and put themselves back in the shop window for bigger clubs with bigger wages. As SG himself suggested, that is most ecconomically viable way of bringing that type of quality to Blackpool, and as Hoolahan and Gorks have discovered sometimes the grass is always greener.
Signing Kabba would be great for us.

Great signing by sg,defenders hate strikers with pace,Oyston get your cheque book out and sign this boy in january. His work ethic for his team is second to none, how often can you say that about strikers...

Larry appears to mave a midas touch when it comes to signing players. Kabba would be a good signing. Also puts pressure on McPhee and Nardiello to perform, both of whom we've yet to see at their best.
More concerned about Steven Crainey. Hopefully he's well on the way to full fitness. While Mo Camara has done a good job, I'm hoping we get a regular performer. Carl Dickinson anybody?

What about robbie williams, was a great loan signing during the ten in a row promotion season, think he,s at halifax? would provide decent cover for crainey.

I think you'll find that Robbie is plying his trade, alongside Messrs Parker and Flynn at Huddersfield. At least you were right about a Yorkshire team beginning with the letter 'H'.

It was a great shame that we didn't hang on to Robbie. He was a character and scored some crucial goals. Non more so, than the one at Wembley.

Free kick specialist, par excellante. I certainly miss him.
